To make the experience of enjoying the Webisodes more pleasant and easily understood, I've teamed up with one of the world's leading online education companies: Udemy.
Before, when you ordered your webisodes, you were given an email with the download link where you could download your chosen webisodes. Unfortunately, not everyone has a lot of hard drive space—not to mention bandwidth—for downloading these large files.
Also, several customers waited until the download links expired and I would have to send them another download link to get their webisodes.
Now, with Udemy, there's no worrying about expired download links, hard drive space, etc., because all the webisodes are stored on Udemy's servers. Here's a look at just a few of the main reasons I switched to delivering you this amazing content with Udemy:
Webisodes 1 & 2: Intro & Gear are absolutely FREE!
Shown in suggested viewing order from left to right, top to bottom.
In Webisodes 1 & 2, you'll be introduced to the influences that helped shape the way I play guitar, more specifically Bluegrass guitar. Famous Legendary guitarists such as Tony Rice, Bryan Sutton, and David Grier—to name a few—are some of the Masters of the genre that I've designed this entire course around so that you can really "Learn the Essentials of Playing Bluegrass Guitar like the Legends!"
You'll also learn which gear I personally use in my every day playing and gigging as well as what gear I recommend for Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced players.
An Introduction to the course, a section on How to Use the Ebooks for the course, as well as a special BONUS section containing links to all the gear I discuss—as well as gear I've learned about since originally recording the course material—are included in the companion ebooks.
In Webisodes 3 & 4 I'll show you:
I'll also begin covering the first—and possibly most important—aspect of successful flatpicking in Bluegrass guitar: Programming The Picking Hand!
In Webisodes 5 & 6 I'll show you:
I know that scales can be a difficult thing to master, but in these webisodes I cover and explain them extensively so you won't be left behind when playing jam sessions with others.
Note: I encourage you to also consider purchasing Webisodes 5 & 6: Open String Transitions & Major Scales to go along with Webisodes 7 & 8 below. Webisodes 5 & 6 go into further detail concerning scales and, coupled along with Webisodes 7 & 8, will give you a more well-rounded understanding of how to play them and apply them to your playing.
In Webisodes 7 & 8 I'll show you:
I'll also show you a special BONUS section on how to switch from Major to Minor scales, as well as some great tips on the topic.
If you really want to be able to play Bluegrass Guitar, you'll need to know how to play and apply the Minor scales for that "Bluesy" sound that Bluegrass guitar is famous for. In these webisodes I'll show you how and give you tons of great ideas on practicing in general as well as practicing scales, setting practice goals, and how to change effortlessly from Major to Minor.
Note: There are no neck diagrams in Webisodes 9 & 10 since there were no need for any. Also, due to editing conflicts, the Chords section referred to in these Webisodes will be placed in the next set of Webisodes.

Eric man, I’m very excited about the things to come. It’s almost insane the amount I am learning from you, and I’ve been touring as a guitarist for years. Could never really get anywhere with flatpicking until I started with your lessons. Seriously grateful to have you to learn from. Been a guitar man since I could walk. You have made these licks possible.
I knew I had the feel the dexterity and the passion; just couldn’t grab it til you made me. As a writer, this is a crazy valuable tool just because of how much more expressive my playing can be in all genres. Once you nail “Blackberry Blossom”, “Sultans of Swing” seems fairly elementary. Thank you so much from Canada, Eric.
You’re giving my audiences a better guitarist!
Eric , I have been playing for over 30 years and only recently did I discover a taste for Bluegrass. Jazz trained and a rock/metal player for most of my life, the tonality of Bluegrass escaped me for months.
I tried to educate myself on the music theory to no real avail as little of any worth is offered online. Your videos advanced my education on this subject to light speed!
Bluegrass Guitar Essentials is exactly what I was looking for. I've been playing guitar all my life, but as someone new to the Bluegrass style I needed something that focused on the unique techniques of Bluegrass without covering the ABCs I knew from other genres.
Eric's teaching does exactly what you need if you can already play some guitar but want to learn bluegrass.
I've learned more from you in the past month than I have from anyone else in the 20 years I've been playing.
You are a superb teacher.
I really like the way you break the licks down in your videos, Eric.
You really have the right approach to teaching.
I've been trying to get into Bluegrass for a while now, and what I've been missing is something as structured as what you are doing with [Bluegrass Guitar Essentials]. I love the practice tips and licks. They go perfectly with the way I practice (I use a metronome and a stopwatch religiously).
The sheet music is extremely helpful. I really like the fast pace of the course ... you obviously spent a lot of time on this. Every lesson seems well thought out and leads to a goal.
It's like having a road map to where I want to be musically, whereas before I was just picking up some stuff here and there from youtube. I don't really have the time it takes to get a bunch of Bluegrass albums and pick them apart, and this is exactly what I've been looking for.
Eric,I'm 57 years old, & have been playing since I was 4. I spent most of my years playing Country & Folk music, except for a few years in my high school days when I started playing Bluegrass with some guys in school. After high school, I went back to the Country & Folk stuff.
Then in the late 90's, I got heavy into Bluegrass again (along with my 2 sons) & have stayed there. I love it, but have never been able to grasp flatpicking. It always seemed so complicated & difficult.
Thanks to your videos & instruction, I'm finally making some headway. I started 2 days ago...In just 2 days, I'm feeling capable...finally! Our weekly jam session is tonight, & although I may not try to fit the lick in tonight, I plan to next week for sure.
You have no idea how excited I am, & how thankful I am for you & your instruction. Just wanted to let you know what a blessing you are.
